MBA Finance: Most Desired Specialization


MBA is considered as the most popular choice of post graduation studies amongst students. The growth in the number of business schools in India rightly reflects the changing trend in Indian education system. More and more students are opting for MBA courses over the other post graduation programs.

A degree in business management is likely to give one a head start in his career. But, even for a MBA student it is important to choose the right specialization as it can greatly influence ones scopes for development in the future. There are a wide range of choices available now to the students. One can choose to specialize in –Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, Information Technology, Retail Management and many more. This can be quite confusing to students seeking admissions to the business schools.

As a rule of thumb though, the choice of the subject is likely to depend on factors like-

The growth in the Indian stock market has opened a new avenue for MBA Finance students. The growing stock market has generated demand for finance specialists as stock brokers and portfolio managers these factors have made finance one of the most sought after specializations in MBA courses.

Though MBA in Finance is the most desired one by the students but it might not suit all. Following are the criteria that one should possess or master if he/she wants to pursue MBA courses in Finance.

·        One must possess strong analytical and reasoning skills.

·        As the subject of finance involves calculation, strong quantitative aptitude is needed by the candidates.

·        Strong problem solving and decision making ability are other desired criteria.

Almost all the business schools in India offer specialization in Finance. However, the student has to choose the one which has the best course to offer. Some of the best MBA courses are offered by MBA Delhi institutes.
The MBA Delhi institutes have wide acceptance both domestically and internationally and some of these business schools also rank very high in the list of top MBA courses. The MBA Hyderabad is also favorite amongst the students, especially that of eastern India because of its closeness from their home cities. That is why good many students from Kolkata joins the MBA Hyderabad institutes. Amongst the international choices MBA Singapore is quite favorite for courses in finance.

As the world economy would become more intertwined in the coming days the charm for specialization in Finance would continue and quite likely the business schools would continue offering specialization in Finance.
