CAT -12 is round the corner and IIMs have declared their admission criteria. The registration for the CAT exam has already begun and will last till end of this month. Many institutes have different criteria for giving admission to students but one thing is common is that maximum weightage will be given to CAT 2011-12 test score. The admission in IIMs depends upon various factors such as CAT score, GD, PI round, Writing Ability Test. However, all institutes have given maximum weightage to CAT score. But a good CAT 2011 score alone it will not be sufficient for your entry to an IIM. You will have to score good in all areas as scoring well in one section is not sufficient as merit list will be based on total score of 100.
Till now, six IIMs have published their admission criteria. These IIMs mentioned the weightage that will be assigned to your scores in CAT 2011, GD, PI rounds, Writing Ability Test (WAT), Past Academic Performance (PAP) and Work Experience (WE) for final selection. Let’s check out the weightage given to Work Experience and Past Academic Performance.
